Historically gum disease has been treated with scalpels, cutting away the diseased tissue and suturing the remaining tissue back together. As opposed to using a scalpel, LANAP® uses Light Energy to selectively remove the diseased tissue while leaving the healthy tissue unharmed and unaffected. This new protocol, is more conservative in nature and results in less pain and faster healing.
